Going back to the fact that Constantine (Cyril) and Methodius were learned Greeks, one can at once “read off” information on the association of art and literature being oriented toward the cradle of arts – Ancient Greece, its beauty standards. It was Constantine (Cyril) who introduced the alphabet for the Slavs. What is the alphabet? It’s a system of signs. At that period (the IXth century A.D.) people needed to understand each other, and those who got the alphabet – to get acquainted with the cultural experience of mankind, set down in wording.
Nowadays the association of art and literature “Kirillitsa” is the alphabet (a system of signs), that enables artists, literary men and other art workers to be translated into the language of spectators. The gallery is a place where man and a picture meet, where the interrelation of any level is established between them: inclusiveness, protest, insight, controversy. Meeting implies talk.
“Kirillitsa” does not keep to any strict priorities, after all, alphabet is available for everyone. We see our mission in being a place for intercommunication in the language of art.
Founded in 2005 the association aims at restoring, preservation, development and promotion of the best traditions of the Russian culture and art, fostering respect to cultural values. The main goal is to support talented artists, writers, musicians, actors and other men of culture and art through holding exhibitions of artistic works, conversazione and musicale, theatrical performances, publications and other artistic and literary activities.
